Patricia Romney, Ph.D. is a family therapist working with elders and their families. In her clinical practice and in her work as a clinical consultant to nursing homes, Dr. Romney works to facilitate well-being and happiness in elders http://drpatromney.com.

She also works with families to promote positive family relationships. Pat is also President and Founder of Romney Associates (www.romneyassociates.com). Her organizational work focuses on schools, colleges and universities. Tapping organizational potential, Dr. Romney assists organizations in the areas of diversity, community building, and leadership development. She also works as a coach to academics and academic administrators. Dr. Romney received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the City University of New York where she won the Bernard R. Ackerman Award for Outstanding Scholarship in Graduate Psychology. She was a pre-doctoral fellow in consultation and education at the Yale University of Medicine and completed a coaching program at the College of Executive Coaching. Dr. Romney is Visiting Associate Professor of Psychology at Mt. Holyoke College. She is a member of the Division of Consulting Psychology of the American Psychological Association and has authored over 20 articles and papers. Her two most recent articles are: "Closing the Achievement Gap?: Five Questions Every School Should Ask" and "The Art of Dialogue."

Dr. Romney has served AFTA as a board member, chair of the Larger Systems Committee, founder of the People of Color Network, member of the Newsletter Editorial Board and the Cultural and Economic Diversity Committee, and as coordinator of roundtables and interest groups for the Program Committee.”
