Celia Falicov is a clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California-San Diego. She is also has a private practice. She serves as Advisory Editor to several journals and is a Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the American Orthopsychiatric Association.

Her publications include two edited books: Family Transitions (Guilford) and Cultural Perspectives in Family Therapy (Aspen). She is the author of Latino Families in Therapy: A Guide to Multicultural Practice (Guilford Press).

A Charter Member, Dr. Falicov has served AFTA as President (1999-2001), Secretary (1991-1993), Board Member (1987-1989), Program Chair (1985), Local Arrangements (1991), and Liaison Chair (2003-2005). She was the recipient of AFTA' s Distinguished Contribution to Family Therapy Theory and Practice Award in 1997.
