Jay Lappin maintains an active clinical private practice and is the Family Therapy Director for CENTRA, Comprehensive Psychotherapy Associates, Marlton, NJ & Philadelphia, PA. (www.centrapc.com)
For fourteen years, he was on the faculty at The Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic (PCGC), then supervised at The Marriage Council of Philadelphia, and the Family Institute of New Jersey. In the spring of 2004 he becomes adjunct professor at Widener University's Graduate School of Social Work. He also serves on the Advisory Board at the Minuchin Center for the Family in New York. His larger systems work includes that at PCGC and, for over fifteen years, as Principal Contractor for Family Focus, a family/systems training and consulting initiative for the State of Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth, and their Families. He is currently using that experience to consult and train with other state agencies. His writing includes applications of structural family therapy in larger systems, cross cultural work, supervision and couples. He is a Contributing Editor for the Psychotherapy Networker and is an adjunct reviewer for The American Journal of Orthopsychiatry and Family Process. He has been active in AFTA since 1984. His activities have included co-organizing the Men's Institute, co-chairing the Endowment Campaign, directing marketing, Board Secretary, and Board Member.
