| To all AFTA colleagues, their loved ones, and
all the people they work with Our hearts and deepest sympathies go out to everyone
-- all of us -- affected by the tragic events of September 11th. Please,
colleagues in New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., Virginia, and Pennsylvania
and the most affected areas, call upon the rest of us to do whatever we can
to provide support and aid. Also, when you can, please let us at AFTA
know if you and family members are O.K. Our thoughts, hopes, and prayers are constantly
with you. At this time more than ever, we need to renew and stand strong with
our commitment to work for peace and justice and to fight hate. Our
world is irrevocably changed. Whatever we can continue to do to find
nonviolent solutions to conflict, war, and injustices is absolutely essential. In times of trauma, we need connection.
Please provide these for each other and your loved ones and clients in any
way that you can and communicate with me and other AFTA members about things
that AFTA can do. With longstanding appreciation that I am a member
of this talented and caring organization, Janine Roberts President of AFTA |
