From the Editor’s Desk

I want to congratulate Volker Thomas for his job as editor of the AFTA Newsletter, we are thankful to him for his dedication and hard work. In particular, I appreciate his mentorship during the transition, and I look forward to his help along my tenure. I also want to thank Barbro Miles, the Managing Editor, and the members of the Editorial Board, I am sure their participation will continue to enhance the quality of the Newsletter.

This issue is about Volker, therefore, I will only write a few words of introduction. I have been a member of AFTA for a long time – since 1983 to be exact. During all these years I have met many wonderful people that have enriched my profession, and personal life as friends, colleagues, and mentors. I am delighted to be involved with an AFTA project again. I know that in the spirit of AFTA I will count on your ideas and collaboration.
